L.J. Howard was born June 23, 1882. He registered for the draft in World War I in Meagher County. He worked in the Big Belt Division of the Helena National Forest from 1908 to 1915; and the Lewis and Clark National Forest from 1922 to 1940. He died on November 2, 1951, in Great Falls.
